Green Bay signs safeties Trey Dean III and Tra Fluellen

The Green Bay Packers have signed S Trey Dean III and S Tra Fluellen (TRAY flew-ELL-un) and released TE Drew Biber (BIB-er) and G Karsen Barnhart. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.

Dean (6-2, 201), a first-year player out of the University of Florida, originally signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023 and spent his rookie year on the Jets' practice squad. Dean spent part of the 2024 offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs and part of the 2024 season on the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns. He has spent two seasons in the UFL, playing for the DC Defenders in 2025 and for the Louisville Kings and St. Louis Battlehawks in 2026. Dean will wear No. 35 for the Packers.

Fluellen (6-0, 212), a first-year player out of Middle Tennessee State, was originally signed to the New Orleans Saints' practice squad on Dec. 9, 2024, and was released by the Saints during the 2025 offseason. In 2026, he played for the Dallas Renegades of the UFL. Fluellen was named honorable mention All-Conference USA in each of his final two seasons (2022-23). He will wear No. 48 for the Packers.
