Green Bay signs S Jonathan Baldwin, QB Clayton Tune to the active roster

The Green Bay Packers signed S Johnathan Baldwin and QB Clayton Tune from the practice squad to the active roster, signed G Karsen Barnhart, CB Tyron Herring and QB Desmond Ridder to the practice squad, and placed S Zayne Anderson and CB Nate Hobbs on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

Barnhart (6-4, 306), a first-year player out of the University of Michigan, was originally signed by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 10, 2024. He spent his entire rookie season on the Chargers' practice squad and was released after training camp in 2025. This season, he has had stints on the practice squads of the Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Barnhart appeared in 42 games over five seasons (2019-23) at Michigan, starting 31 games across the offensive line. He will wear No. 61 for the Packers.

Herring (6-1, 201) originally signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2025, but was released after training camp. After spending part of this season on the practice squad of the New England Patriots, he was on the Packers' practice squad in Weeks 9-14. Herring began his career at Dartmouth College (2019-22) before finishing at the University of Delaware (2023-24). He was named fourth-team All-Ivy League in 2022, honorable mention All-CAA in 2023 and second-team All-CAA in 2024. He will wear No. 46 for the Packers.

Ridder (6-3, 211), a fourth-year player out of the University of Cincinnati, was originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round (No. 74 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has played in 25 games with 18 starts for the Falcons (2022-23) and Las Vegas Raiders (2024), completing 374 of 588 passes (63.6 pct.) for 4,002 yards (6.8 avg.) and 16 touchdowns with 14 interceptions for a passer rating of 82.6. Ridder has also registered 293 rushing yards and five TDs on 78 carries (3.8 avg.). He has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals (2024), Cincinnati Bengals (2025) and Minnesota Vikings (2025). Ridder will wear No. 18 for the Packers.
