Packers claim DE Shaneil Jenkins

TE Beau Sandland placed on injured reserve

The Green Bay Packers claimed DE Shaneil Jenkins off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks and placed TE Beau Sandlandon injured reserve. The transactions were announced Sunday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Jenkins (6-3, 295) was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Shepherd (W.Va.) University by the Denver Broncos on May 3, 2016. After being released by the Broncos on Aug. 3, 2016, he signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 7, 2016, but was released on Sept. 2, 2016. Jenkins was signed to the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad on Dec. 6, 2016, where he spent the remainder of the season and offseason before being released on Aug. 12, 2017. As a senior at Shepherd, he recorded 13.5 sacks and was named Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Jenkins will wear No. 72 for the Packers.
