  • The Packers are 4-3 this season, marking the fourth straight season and the ninth time under Head Coach Mike McCarthy that Green Bay entered the bye week with a winning record (2-1 in 2016, 6-0 in 2015, 5-3 in 2014, 6-3 in 2012, 7-0 in 2011, 6-3 in 2010, 4-3 in 2008, 5-1 in 2007).
  • The Packers' four wins are tied for the fourth most in the NFC this season.
  • The Packers have won 10 of their last 13 regular-season games and are tied with Kansas City for the third-best record in the NFL over that span (Pittsburgh and New England, 11-2).
  • Green Bay is currently No. 2 in the NFC North, ahead of the Detroit Lions (3-3) and Chicago Bears (3-4) and behind the Minnesota Vikings (5-2).
  • The Packers have posted 160-plus rushing yards in two of the last three games.
  • Since the merger in 1970 (735 games for the Packers), Green Bay has had five games with 25 or fewer rushing attempts and 160-plus rushing yards, with three coming in the last 10 games (9/29/85, at St. Louis, 25 for 216 yards / 9/29/03, at Chicago, 25 for 187 yards / 12/18/16, at Chicago, 23 for 226 yards / 10/8/17, at Dallas, 25 for 160 yards / 10/22/17, vs. New Orleans, 24 for 181 yards). Since Week 15 last season, there have been four of those games in the NFL, and Green Bay has accounted for three of them (9/24/17, Kansas City Chiefs, 25 for 189 yards at Los Angeles Chargers).

IN AND OUT OF THE BYE

  • The Packers fell to 7-5 (.583) under McCarthy in the game heading into the open date on their schedule. The previous four times the Packers have lost heading into the bye, they have won each game immedietely following the bye. Three of the four games took place at home against division opponents (2014 vs. Chicago, 2013 and 2009 vs. Detroit).
  • This will be the first time since 2007 (at Denver, Week 8) that Green Bay will play on Monday Night Football coming out of its bye.
  • It will be the fourth straight season that the Packers have played in a prime-time contest coming out of the bye.
  • Green Bay will play at home in the week after the bye for the fifth time in the McCarthy era. The Packers have won each of the previous four.
  • Green Bay will face an NFC opponent for the seventh time after the bye since 2006, and it will be the sixth time they play a team from the NFC North.
  • The Packers have won each of the six previous matchups against NFC teams in the week after the bye.
  • In games immediately following its bye week, Green Bay has won 16 of its last 21 (.762), including wins in seven of the last eight. Overall, the Packers are 9-2 (.818) under McCarthy in games played the week after the bye.
  • From 2009-14, Green Bay won its first game after the bye in each season, outscoring its opponents, 203-84, in those contests. That included a 26-0 win vs. Detroit in 2009, a 31-3 victory at Minnesota in 2010, a 22-9 win vs. Detroit in 2013 and a 55-14 win over Chicago in 2014.
  • Since McCarthy took over in 2006, the Packers have a 69-39-1 overall record (.638) after the bye. Since 2009, Green Bay is 52-26-1 (.665) overall after the bye.

BREAKING DOWN THE ROSTER

  • The Packers currently have an 53-man roster that is composed of 25 offensive players, 25 defensive players and three specialists.
  • Of the 53 players on Green Bay's roster, 32 of them (60.4 percent) were draft picks of the Packers. Dating back to 2007, Green Bay has at least one member of each draft class still on the roster.
  • Green Bay has 14 players on the roster that began their careers as undrafted free agents, with 11 of those originally signed by Green Bay.
  • Over a third (37.7 percent) of the players (20 of 53) on Green Bay's roster entered the league as a sixth-round or seventh-round pick or as an undrafted player.
  • The Packers have four players on the roster that played in the NFL prior to the 2009 season. Three of those four players were draft picks of the Packers (K Mason Crosby, WR Jordy Nelson and LB Clay Matthews) and two have made at least one Pro Bowl.
  • Of the 53 players on the roster, 43 began their pro careers with the Packers (81.1 percent).
  • Only 19 of the 53 players on the roster (35.8 percent) were selected in the first three rounds of the draft, with 16 being drafted by the Packers.

  • After the bye, Green Bay will play consecutive games against NFC North opponents. In Week 9, the Packers will host the Detroit Lions on MNF, and then face the Bears in Chicago in Week 10.
  • Green Bay has won three consecutive games on MNF, including a 27-13 win over Philadelphia last season. It will be the third time the Packers and Lions have met on MNF and the first since 1972.
  • It will be the 25th consecutive season (1993-2017) that Green Bay is appearing on MNF, the second longest streak behind Denver (1992-2017).
  • Including a 1994 playoff victory, the Packers are 25-1 against the Lions in the state of Wisconsin since 1992.
  • Green Bay has an 18-4 overall mark (.818) and a 10-1 home record (.909) against Detroit under McCarthy.
  • Green Bay swept the regular-season series with the Lions last season.
