GREEN BAY – The Packers are going to see if cornerback Jaire Alexander's injured shoulder can heal without surgery.

Head Coach Matt LaFleur said Alexander will be out for Sunday's game at Cincinnati and could still go on short-term injured reserve, but for now he is not being ruled out for the season.

"We got better clarity with that," LaFleur said Friday regarding the shoulder sprain. "We're going to let it heal and see where it's at down the line before making that determination (on surgery).

"We're hopeful it'll heal the right way and he'll be back with us in a matter of weeks."

If Alexander is placed on IR, he would have to miss a minimum of three games before being allowed to return to practice.
