Packers Re-Sign DE Montgomery

The Green Bay Packers have signed unrestricted free agent DE Michael Montgomery. The signing was announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

A sixth-round draft choice by the Packers in 2005, Montgomery spent his first four seasons in Green Bay. He established career highs in tackles (71) and sacks (2½) last season.

The fifth-year pro has seen action in 46 career games, including eight starts in 2008.
