The Green Bay Packers signed C Garth Gerhart to the practice squad and released T/G Shea Allard from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Tuesday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Gerhart, a 6-foot-1, 310-pound rookie out of Arizona State, entered the league as a non-drafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in May 2012 and spent the entire 2012 season on Cleveland's practice squad. He appeared in 39 games with 35 starts during his four seasons (2008-11) at Arizona State. Gerhart will wear No. 72 for the Packers.
