The Green Bay Packers signed CB Shemar Bartholomew to the practice squad and released CB Tyron Herring and WR Michael Woods II from the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.
(shuh-MAR) Bartholomew (6-0, 200), a second-year player, originally signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He was released after training camp and claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers where he appeared in five games as a rookie, recording three tackles (two solo), two passes defensed and a tackle for a loss. This season, Bartholomew has spent time on the practice squads of the Panthers and Minnesota Vikings. He began his collegiate career at Northwestern State (2018-22), before transferring to Georgia Southern for his final year of eligibility (2023). Bartholomew will wear No. 34 for the Packers.
