Packers Sign Francois To Active Roster, Place Martin On I.R., Sign Two To Practice Squad

The Green Bay Packers have signed LB Robert Francois to the active roster from the practice squad, placed S Derrick Martin on injured reserve, signed S Michael Greco and LB Mike Rivera to the practice squad, and released LB Johnny Williams from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Wednesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Francois, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound first-year player out of Boston College, spent the final four weeks of the regular season and the playoffs on the Packers' practice squad in 2009. He was released by Green Bay in the final roster cutdown in September, and has been on the practice squad for four of the five games. Francois entered the NFL as a non-drafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in May 2009. He will wear No. 49.

Martin sustained a knee injury in last Sunday's game at Washington. He played in all five games this season.

Greco (GRECK-oh), a 6-foot-3, 224-pound rookie out of Central Florida, signed with the Giants in April 2010 as a non-drafted free agent and was with the team during the preseason. He will wear No. 43.

Rivera, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound first-year player out of Kansas, spent the entire 2009 season on the Tennessee Titans' practice squad and was with the Titans during the preseason this year. He entered the NFL as a non-drafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in May 2009. Rivera will wear No. 48.
