Packers sign S Innis Gaines to active roster

Green Bay releases S Johnathan Abram, signs TE Nick Guggemos to practice squad

The Green Bay Packers have signed S Innis Gaines to the active roster from the practice squad, released S Johnathan Abram and signed TE Nick Guggemos to the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday. 

Gaines originally joined the Packers on Jan. 8, 2021, and has been on Green Bay's practice squad during parts of last season and this season, appearing in one game for the Packers last year and two contests this year as a gameday elevation. 

(GOOG-uh-mohs) Guggemos is a 6-5, 247-pound first-year player out of the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minn.) who originally signed with the Seattle Seahawks on May 6, 2021. After the Seahawks, he also spent time with the Washington Football Team and Cleveland Browns. Guggemos will wear No. 46 for the Packers.
