Packers Training Camp, presented by Bellin Health features new activities for fans

The Packers today announced the activities available for fans to enjoy next to Ray Nitschke Field and in the Tundra Tailgate Zone during 2014 Packers Training Camp, presented by Bellin Health. Kicking off on July 26, a variety of Packers partners will host activities for fans to participate in while they watch practice.

The American Family Insurance DreamZone, an interactive area located in the Tundra Tailgate Zone, will feature activities during the first week of training camp (July 26-Aug. 2). Activities include a football toss skills game, photo opportunities, a Lambeau Leap area, interactive pylons with Packers trivia and word play and community walls, which ask dream-related questions and encourage people to write their answers on the walls.

Other training camp highlights will include:

  • Chevy Packers Mobile Tour, on July 26 from 6:45 to 11:30am, will include game stations, video reels and a photo booth station with a chance to enter Chevy's 2014 season sweepstakes and win prizes.
  • The Oneida Nation petting zoo with the Green Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, and an Oneida Nation recipe sampling on July 27, from 6:45 to 11:30 a.m.
  • McDonald's Fry Field Goal Challenge on July 28, from 6:45 to 11:30 a.m., to offer fans chances to test their field goal kicking abilities and win prizes.
  • Bellin Health Bike Safety Rodeo in the Lambeau Field parking lot, featuring a free bike helmet give-away to the first 400 participants, as well as helmet-fitting and law enforcement safety courses on July 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Coca-Cola's Share a Coke display, and personalized Coke can creation on July 31, from 6:45 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Verizon Wireless and NFL Mobile display with Verizon giveaways and Packers autographed items on Aug. 1, from 6:45 to 11:30 a.m.­­
  • Kemps Moooseum with ice cream and interactive features on Aug. 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Chili's Carnival with fun activities for kids and adults, and opportunities to win prizes on Aug. 6.
  • Delaware North Companies Sportservice Gridiron Chef Throwdown on July 26 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Oneida Nation Gate, hosted by Cameron Moreland from NBC26. Mark Murphy and a panel of judges will critique fan-submitted game day recipes and the winner will be featured on the Lambeau Field concessions menu.

The Lambeau Field Atrium also offers plenty to see during training camp, including the new Packers Pro Shop, which opened on July 17. The new shop, which is more than double the size of the previous store, features apparel, Packers collectibles, tailgating accessories and home goods.

Curly's Pub will offer ice cream sundaes designed by Mark Murphy and Packers players, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to charity. Each week of training camp will feature a different sundae, and each sundae will be accompanied by a commemorative photo.

Also available for fans to enjoy during training camp are several different Lambeau Field Stadium Tours, including classic stadium tours and extended tours that feature the South End and the Lee Remmel Press Box.

This marks Green Bay's 69th training camp, a tradition that began in 1946 under Curly Lambeau. According to the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau and a 2010 study by AECOM, training camp, along with Packers Family Night, presented by Bellin Health, will attract approximately 90,000 visitors from across the nation and as many as 20 foreign countries. With an economic total impact estimated at approximately $9 million,training camp is a financial boost to many area businesses.
