Packers Fans Encouraged To Help Packers Beat Vikings In Ring-Off
While the Packers and Vikings will compete Sunday on Lambeau Field, Packers fans can get involved in the rivalry Friday afternoon by supporting the Green and Gold to victory in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Challenge, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Lambeau Field Atrium.
The off-the-field battle pits the Packers' wide receivers against the Vikings' defensive linemen to see who can raise the most money. Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Brett Swain and Jake Allen will ring bells in the Atrium in exchange for autographs. Vikings defensive line coach Karl Dunbar and members of the team's defensive line simultaneously will ring bells at Mall of America in suburban Minneapolis.
With many area schools off for a teachers' convention, students also are asked to support the cause by stopping by to wish the receivers good luck in Sunday's game, make a donation and help the Packers get a head start on the weekend competition.
For those who can't make it to the Atrium during the 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. ring-off and still want to contribute to the Salvation Army and receive autographs from the players, the Packers' wide receivers will be "warming up" by ringing and signing autographs in exchange for donations from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Additionally, the Packers' Hunting Down Hunger orange hat campaign will be featured with all hat sale proceeds raised during the ring-off going to the Salvation Army's hunger support programs.
