Sargento Offers Football-Themed Cheese Carving Contest

Wisconsinites can certainly wear cheese and eat cheese, but can they carve cheese?

You've got to see it to believe it!

Join Sargento as it kicks off its second year as the Official Cheese of Lambeau Field with a Football-Themed Cheese Carving Contest -- 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, outside the Lambeau Field Atrium prior to kick-off of the Packers/Titans Game.

What better way to combine the Sargento passion for cheese and the support of the Wisconsin community, love of the (football) game and the second-annual Sargento "Official Cheese of Lambeau Field" designation than with a truly Wisconsin-style, football-themed cheese carving event!

Sargento has selected six University of Wisconsin at Green Bay art students to carve football-related sculptures out of 40-pound blocks of Sargento Cheddar Cheese. The carvings will be judged by members of the Packers Women's Association, per judging criteria provided onsite by professional cheese sculpture artist Sarah Baumann. Baumann will also showcase previously completed Sargento Cheddar Cheese-carved football-themed replicas.

Sargento will demonstrate its encouragement and support of the local community by rewarding the winning carver with a $1,000 tuition-based scholarship. As a thank-you for its participation in judging, and to support its community outreach efforts, Sargento will donate $1,000 to the PWA in the name of the contest winner. The winner will be announced at 6:30 p.m.

Sargento representatives also will be on-hand to showcase the re-introduced line of 2004 Sargento "Official Cheese of Lambeau Field" products and the custom-designed Sargento 50th Anniversary Harley-Davidson? Cheese Chopper - painted to resemble a chunk of Wisconsin cheese and complete with a cheese wedge sidecar.

Sargento and the Green Bay Packers would be honored to have you join us for the event.
