The Green Bay Packers today announced the schedule for 2010 Packers Training Camp, Presented by Bellin Health, featuring seven two-a-days and eight night practices at Ray Nitschke Field.

With a theme of "Back to Football," training camp opens with a single practice at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31. The first of seven two-a-day workouts follows Sunday, Aug. 1, with a morning practice at 8:45 a.m. and an evening workout at 6:30 p.m.

The other two-a-days, all with the same practice times of 8:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., are scheduled for Aug. 3, 5, 10, 12, 17 and 19. The other single workouts at 2 p.m. are slated for Aug. 2, 6, 9 and 16.

The final two night practices are solo workouts on Aug. 19 and 23. Following the second preseason game at Seattle on Saturday, Aug. 21, the team has no more two-a-days and will practice in either the morning or evening.

Should inclement weather or any other factor force the team indoors, practices will be closed to the public due to space limitations inside the Don Hutson Center.

The Packers have incorporated night practices into their training camp schedule since Mike McCarthy took over as head coach in 2006.

The annual Packers Family Night, Presented by Bellin Health, is scheduled for Saturday evening, Aug. 7, at Lambeau Field. The event will benefit the Wendy"s Wonderful Kids program and will have evening activities get underway in the stadium at 5:30 p.m., followed by on-field football drills at 6:30 and the scrimmage at approximately 7:30.

The team"s two home preseason games, also presented by Bellin Health, are slated for Aug. 14, vs. the Cleveland Browns, and Aug. 26, vs. the Indianapolis Colts. In addition to the Seahawks contest, Aug. 21, the other road game is against the Kansas City Chiefs, Sept. 2.

Important dates on the preseason calendar include:

" Friday, July 30 - Players report

" Saturday, July 31 - First practice, 2 p.m., Ray Nitschke Field

" Saturday, Aug. 7- Family Night intra-squad scrimmage, Lambeau Field

" Tuesday, Aug. 31 - Last practice open to public, 10:15 a.m., Ray Nitschke Field; NFL-mandated roster reduction, to 75 players

" Saturday, Sept. 4- NFL-mandated roster reduction, to 53 players

According to the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau, training camp, along with Packers Family Night, Presented by Bellin Health, will attract an estimated 100,000 visitors from across the nation and as many as 20 foreign countries. With an economic impact estimated at $25-30 million, training camp is a financial boost to many area businesses.

This marks Green Bay's 65th training camp, a tradition that began in 1946 under Curly Lambeau. One of the most intimate preseason settings in the NFL, Packers training camp is unique in several respects. Players have been riding kids' bicycles to practice since the Vince Lombardi era, and the team has lived in the dorm rooms at nearby St. Norbert College since 1958, the league's longest training camp relationship between a team and school.
