Nearly 14,000 Total Votes Cast by Fans

Wisconsin native Richard Perse is the winner of the Penske Truck Rental "Create Your Own Commercial Contest," it was announced Wednesday by Penske Truck Rental and the Green Bay Packers.

Receiving thousands of the nearly 14,000 total votes cast via online balloting at Packers.com, Perse and his family and friends will soon enjoy the grand prize: use of a suite for the Packers' Dec. 28 regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions. The winning video will be recognized at the Lions game.

Perse, currently residing in Melbourne, Fla., where he owns an electronics company, has strong ties to the greater Milwaukee area. A graduate of Cudahy High School in Cudahy, Wis., Perse, 63, owns a home in St. Francis, Wis., which he frequents several times a year, and hopes to retire there in a few years. He received a bachelor's degree in marketing from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and was awarded an MBA from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

"I grew up in a very Polish area," Perse said, explaining how he got the idea for the commercial. "Bratwurst, beer and the Packers are the meaning of life." The two actors in the commercial, seen at a Cudahy restaurant and butcher shop, are related to Perse: his nephew, Bob Bergles of Franksville, Wis. and brother-in-law Pete Pospichal, Cudahy, Wis.

"I would like to congratulate Richard and his family for winning this contest," said Jim Feenstra, Senior Vice President - Marketing, Penske Truck Leasing. "It was a great choice."

The fan-created commercials were required to highlight Penske Truck Rental, Wisconsin and being a Packers fan. In all, seven semifinalists had their videos shown at a Packers home game this season.
