Peppers has been selected to the Pro Bowl eight times during his career (2004-06, 2008-12) and has been named first-team All-Pro by The Associated Press three times (2004, 2006, 2010). He was also named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s.

Peppers signed with Green Bay as a free agent in March 2014 after spending four seasons with the Chicago Bears (2010-13) and eight with the Carolina Panthers (2002-09), the team that selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft.

Peppers was elected a 2014 playoff captain by his teammates. During the 2014 regular season, Peppers tallied 45 total tackles (33 solo), seven sacks, two interceptions, and led the teams with four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. During the team's Divisional Playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, Peppers recorded six tackles, two forced fumbles and one sack.

Peppers ranks No. 3 in the league in sacks (125.5) and No. 3 in forced fumbles(43) since entering the NFL in 2002. His sack total ranks No. 16 in NFL history (since 1982).

Peppers is the only player in NFL history with 10 interceptions and at least 100 sacks.

Peppers has played in 112 consecutive regular-season games. He has missed just two games due to injury (Weeks 16-17 in 2007, knee) during his 12-year career.

Peppers was born in Wilson, N.C., and attended the University of North Carolina.

As a junior at North Carolina in 2001, Peppers became the first Tar Heel to win a major college football award by capturing both the Lombardi Trophy as the nation's top lineman and the Chuck Bednarik Award as the country's top defensive player.

Peppers also played basketball for two seasons (1999-2001) at North Carolina, averaging 7.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in 2000-01 to help the Tar Heels win a share of the ACC regular-season title.

His given name is Julius Frazier Peppers, and he is nick-named "Pep." Peppers was named after basketball Hall of Famer Julius Ervin.
