Registration is now open for the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame's ninth annual "Tundra Tales" at-home reading program for students in grades 4K through 8. The registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 11, and the program will run from Jan. 21 through March 24, 2019.

The "Tundra Tales" program aims to develop lifelong reading habits by encouraging children to read at home. Students in 4K through fifth grade must read or be read to for 60 minutes every week, outside of school, for eight weeks (a total of 480 minutes). Students in sixth through eighth grades must read 90 minutes a week (a total of 720 minutes). An extra week to achieve the total goal has been included to accommodate school schedules and spring breaks.

This year, educators and coordinators have two program options to offer their participants: bi-weekly, with four two-week segments and a Packers-themed prize at the end of each segment, or a traditional option with one eight-week segment. Participants who achieve the final goal will receive a Packers Hall of Fame voucher good for one free participant admission and one reduced price adult admission.

Program appropriate tracking sheets are available in both English and Spanish on pckrs.com/tundratales and must be filled out and signed by parents or guardians to show completion of the required minutes. The deadline to turn in the final tracking sheet is Monday, March 25.

Last year more than 23,000 students from across the state participated in the at-home reading program. Homeschoolers, virtual schools, after school programs, parent-teacher organizations and families have also participated in the program, and are encouraged to continue doing so.
