Packers re-sign LB Eric Wilson

Wilson has led the Packers in special teams tackles each of the last two seasons

The Green Bay Packers have re-signed LB Eric Wilson. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Saturday.

Wilson (6-1, 230), an eighth-year player out of the University of Cincinnati, originally joined the Packers after being signed off the New Orleans Saints' practice squad on Oct. 4, 2022. Over the last two years, he has played in 30 regular season games for Green Bay and has led the Packers in special teams tackles each of the last two seasons (11 in 2023 and 13 in 2022). Wilson has also played on defense for Green Bay, recording 24 tackles (11 solo), a sack and a tackle for a loss. Wilson appeared in two postseason contests for the Packers, registering five tackles (four solo) on defense and a tackle on special teams. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings in 2017. In five seasons with the Vikings (2017-20), Philadelphia Eagles (2021) and Houston Texans (2021), Wilson appeared in 78 regular-season games with 27 starts and recorded 254 tackles (136 solo), eight sacks, four interceptions, nine passes defensed, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. On special teams, he posted 26 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a blocked punt and a blocked extra point. He also appeared in four postseason games with two starts, recording 13 tackles (nine solo), a QB hit and a special teams tackle.
