GREEN BAY – Bashaud Breeland's stint with the Packers is over after the sixth-year cornerback signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday.

Signed as a street free agent on Sept. 26, Breeland recorded 20 tackles with two interceptions, including a 22-yard return for a touchdown in a 34-20 win over Atlanta on Dec. 9, in the seven games with the Packers.

Although Breeland signed midway through Week 4, he actually didn't make his Packers debut until Week 9 in New England due to hamstring and groin injuries. Breeland then started five games, splitting time between inside and outside cornerback.

One positive coming out of the season for the 5-foot-11, 195-pound cornerback was he didn't suffer any setbacks with the foot injury that caused the Carolina Panthers to fail him on a physical last March.

The Packers remain deep and young at cornerback with PFWA All-Rookie Team selection Jaire Alexander and former second-round pick Kevin King leading the way. Veteran Tramon Williams is also under contract for 2019, while Josh Jackson and Tony Brown saw extended playing time as rookies.
