May I exhale now?
My eyes were wide and cheeks were full again after that one.
Jonathan from St. Joseph, MO
Bay of Pigs is appropriate. That was a slop fest. Penalties, turnovers. Nice to see the O-line play better but that type of performance didn't pass the eye test. I guess a W is what matters the most.
Slop fest is just as apropos. I feel slightly better about this win than the Jets one, but only slightly.
Roger from Eau Claire, WI
Happy for the win but we are still playing like a bad team. Penalties, dropped passes, fumbles. If we can clean up those things it would be easier to watch the games. Next week I will be at the game to cheer my loudest. That should help.
I'd like to believe that, but appreciate the positive attitude.
Dana from Bethlehem, PA
When I read about Edgerrin Cooper's potentially season-ending injury, I thought to myself, what next? How will the Pack overcome this one?
Great question. Nothing against Isaiah McDuffie, Ty'Ron Hopper or Nick Niemann, but Coop isn't just a linebacker. He's a dynamic playmaker in this defense and that was on display for the past month. It's a huge loss, no getting around that. The defense has to take a deep breath and soldier on.

Going into this season I kept telling myself as long as we stay relatively healthy we will be a good team…well it's been a tough start to the season in that regard. This is why I don't understand so many people calling for MLF and BG to be fired…you can't blame them for the injuries. The last two years have been brutal in regards to major contributors being lost for the season. I think the last 11 games go a lot differently if we stayed healthy.
No argument on that last point, but injuries don't excuse penalties, dropped passes, fumbles and all the other stuff that keeps holding this team back. Clean(er) football can still be played with a banged-up roster. It's how you give yourself the best chance to overcome injuries, and this team still just makes life difficult on itself offensively.
Carolyn from Minneapolis, MN
Been watching the Pack for most of my 71 years, and I may be wrong, but it seemed like Evan Williams was the star of the team for us in this win against Tampa Bay. Thank goodness for his instincts on the interception, and tenacity at the end to prevent them from scoring. Really glad to have him on our team!
E is a rising star on this defense and in this league. It's not easy to have a presence as a safety when the partner back there is a two-time All-Pro, but Williams is really coming into his own. He's fun to watch play, and if the DC is calling your number to blitz down after down with the game on the line, that tells you what the coaching staff thinks of him, too.
Jon from Lynchburg, VA
Did Gannon keep some blitzes up his sleeve for the "must have" moment?
Sure looked like it to me. The Williams blitz at the end might be the same as the Xavier McKinney blitz that got a sack earlier, but just sending the other safety. Whatever the case, Daniels looked like he didn't know what was coming.

Hello II. I'm sure your Inbox is full of negativity but I'd like to offer some hope. O-line played OK, which is a great improvement. Defense played very well, but losing Cooper is going to hurt. If GB scores instead of fumble, we'd feel much better. Plus we have a kicker. What was the greatest area of improvement you saw from this team?
Definitely the functioning of the O-line, though there were still too many penalties. But Jordan Love wasn't sacked and only hit twice. That's a major step forward. The run game remained a tough slog, but two explosives are something to build on. Kudos to Trey Smack on another long one. Three huge points as it turned out. But all the "if GB does this, then this and everybody feels better" stuff is getting old. No more ifs, just do.

Acknowledging the fact that teams can play well and still lose and teams can play poorly and still win, even at 2-2, I still don't feel like this team has played a good game yet. What do you feel was the most encouraging element about the win over the Bucs?
I should also mention the lack of reliance on the explosive play was a good sign in a way. Clearly a lot of quick passes were called to get the ball out of Love's hands, and he took checkdowns to avoid hits, too. They showed they can move the ball that way at times. But that's where the drops ruined much of the potential efficiency of the plan.
Eric from Keene, NH
Phew! I'm going to call that one snatching victory from the jaws of mediocrity. My question is, you seemed really down on the running game in the first half. When I checked at the half, GB had 3.4 yards per running play to 4.3 per passing play, what with all the drops and all. I was glad MLF stuck with the run because the passing game wasn't making a strong case. Was I missing something?
I understand the commitment to the run. Had to take that approach for many reasons. But I can only imagine the frustration as a play-caller when second-and-3 turns into third-and-5, and other similar backward steps. LaFleur is just asking for a couple yards on many of those runs to keep his playbook open, and when they go the wrong direction it puts the whole offense in a tough spot.
Dan from Maquoketa, IA
I happy about the win, but how can this offense ever expect to get any rhythm if they have a negative play, penalty or loss, on every drive? How many drives did we have today with at least one of those?
I can't recall a single drive that was immune, and most had multiple setbacks. The offense's third-down conversion rate is horrific, and it's a combination of all the negative plays creating long-yardage situations, and dropped passes that should be moving the chains.
Scooter from La Crosse, WI
Hi Mike, saw a question on the chat. What is the strength of this team? Honestly don't know. Thoughts? Thanks.
There's a lot to like about this defense. My only beef with that unit in this game is it got a little too lax at times on containing Daniels' running ability. Otherwise, it was a solid effort and it's a multi-score win if the offense gets out of its own way. Overcoming the loss of Cooper will be a big challenge. We'll see when Micah Parsons gets back. But the defense needs to see itself as the backbone of the team until the offense can clean up its game. The special teams is getting there, too. Skyy Moore's impact on returns is positive. The way he runs up to catch a short, wayward punt is the type of yard-saving play we haven't seen for a while. The flags in that phase have been minimal. Protection didn't let last week's hiccup snowball. Daniel Whelan needs to get rid of his one poor punt per game, and Smack can't keep putting the opponent on the 35 with touchbacks. But those seem like easier fixes than some of the other stuff plaguing the overall product right now.
Shane from Kennewick, WA
2-2 feels astronomically better than 1-3.
I hear you, but to be totally honest, I'd take 1-3 instead if Zach Bako-Bewele, Jayden Reed and Coop were still available to play this year.
Cindy from Minneapolis, MN
Ooof what an ugly game. But we won. I'm glad MLF didn't listen to us barstool quarterbacks and threw that challenge flag.
I said in the live blog with how hard it was to score the first touchdown on all those snaps inside the 10, I wasn't surprised at all the Packers challenged that Tucker Kraft catch for the TD. It looked good to me right away (it was directly below our press box view), so I don't know why the official didn't just call it a touchdown and let the auto review fix it if needed, honestly.
Douglas from Harbor Springs, MI
Was it ever explained why they did not call a safety late in the fourth? It looked to me that Daniels was trying to escape a tackle, and went into the end zone on his own volition, not dragged into the end zone.
I never got a good look at a replay, and the live action was at the other end of the field from the press box. My first thought was safety all the way. I don't know.
Cully from Rohnert Park, CA
Hello II, we will have a victory Monday. Another ugly win, but I think that's the way this year is going to be. What can we do as fans to get the NFL to get the refs to keep the flags in their pockets unless it's an obvious penalty, and one that actually impacts the outcome of the play? It's not just Packers games that are being impacted. I see terrible calls in almost all of the games. It's really becoming hard to watch these games that the refs are making hard to watch.
I've got no answers there. The officiating is a problem in this league and has been for some time, mostly because a lot of officials feel they have to flag everything wrong they see. But I'm not sure the league cares when it keeps setting ratings records anyway.
Chris from Kennesaw, GA
Will we ever see you two do Final Thoughts from inside Lambeau again? I always thought that was pretty cool.
To be fully transparent, it was a ton of work for our video crew to get a camera and lights set up in the bowl for a 5-minute shoot, and we were always battling various disruptive noises out there anyway (cleaning, shoveling, tours, etc.). To boot, now the sponsor gets in the visuals on the video screen behind us. We gotta pay our salaries somehow.

I see Warren Brinson was placed on IR Saturday. Since he hasn't practiced or played, can this be backdated a couple weeks, like in MLB?
Nope. Doesn't work that way. Plus, he did practice, getting hurt again in his first practice back, and it sounds like it's a longer-term injury.
Larry from Church Hill, TN
Recently I had lunch with my friend Carroll Dale. I asked him if he thought he would ever be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He answered that he wasn't optimistic it would happen. I checked his career stats and they were comparable to other receivers who have been previously enshrined. Do you think he has a case, especially as a member of three Super Bowl teams?
Agree or disagree, I think the Hall is done with the Lombardi Packers. Kramer was in all likelihood the last one.
Morgan from Raleigh, NC
Tom Pelissero recently reported Micah would be out until mid-November, but he's had no setbacks. It seemed like clickbait. Is there any truth to what he reported?
Tom is a trusted, knowledgeable and connected reporter. To be clear, he said it "could be" November before Parsons is ready for game action. Nothing definitive. At this point it's week to week to see when he returns to practice, and he'll go from there.
Richard from Madison, WI
I know there's no gambling here in the Inbox, so I'll just ask for a guess. Given how crazily well balanced the NFL is these days, when do you expect the 1972 Dolphins to be taking their annual round of good cheer? Maybe sometime in October?
I'll be surprised if it's not before Halloween.
Brian from Urbana, IL
I'm a Sox fan with no skin in the game. As such, I wanted to say that I watched the video and it is my (non-expert) opinion that the ball would have landed foul.
But even with no roof or cables, nobody would've known for sure without laser foul poles.

Jackson *#%!?~%# Chourio! What a weekend, Wisconsin!
Massive props to Wes for fixing the WiFi on my phone in time for me to see the last two batters of that epic ninth inning on the plane. To steal his line, holy schnikes! Happy Monday.
