Not necessarily Packers question but just an awe moment in the Dallas-Philly game. The play Alijah Clark made on the fumbled punt was a thing of beauty. A football player making a football play off pure grit and determination. Who on the Packers' special teams would be most likely to make that play?
Hmm…maybe Zayne Anderson?
Anthony from Green Bay, WI
It's not conservative play-calling, it's a luxury.
You've done all the hard work, so let's bring it home.
James from Augusta, WI
To all those folks screaming for the Packers to "turn that offense loose," when half of your starting offense is out with injuries is NOT the time to "turn 'em loose." Give a little credit to Matt LaFleur and the players for winning games without that many starters on the field. (Elgton Jenkins, Josh Jacobs, Jayden Reed, Tucker Kraft, and Matthew Golden).
The Packers found their win condition behind Emanuel Wilson and stuck to it. On a short week with a banged-up roster, I'd say it worked out pretty darn well.
Bruce from Jackson, WI
Mike mentioned Monday we need to bring the same run defense we had against Saquon Barkley Thursday against Jahmyr Gibbs. Whether because of overuse last year or something else, Barkley hasn't been near the same runner this year as last. Gibbs on the other hand is running downhill and if given the chance could take over the game. Hopefully Quay Walker is back because this defense is going to have to be flying around the field Thursday. Any word on his condition?
Walker was estimated as limited on Monday, which is a positive development after he didn't practice at all last week. The Packers' defensive front did a great job against the Lions in the opener, but Walker and Edgerrin Cooper also were everywhere at the second level.
Jeffrey from Eveleth, MN
How do the Packers stop Gibbs? Go back and watch the film from Week 1.
Hats. To. The. Ball.
George from Edinburg, VA
Like many fans, I assume, I was surprised the Packers continually ran Wilson during the last big drive, with continued success. What amazed me more was Coach LaFleur's statement that they kept running the same play over and over.
This wasn't LaFleur's intention, but that series of run plays was a great illustration how it doesn't matter if the defense knows what's coming if it can do nothing to stop it. The Packers imposed their will on Minnesota in all three phases.
Steve from Ellison Bay, WI
I recall seeing live Emanuel Wilson's long TD run against Cincinnati in a preseason game that earned him a roster spot, much like Desmond Howard returning a punt for a TD in the preseason many years ago. Good for him and Packers. I think the only RB I would least like to tackle than Emanuel would be No. 8.
Wilson has an explosive first step and can lower the boom when absorbing contact. That combo has Wilson's arrow pointing straight up.
Josh from Seattle, WA
I have been on the Emanuel Wilson train since his breakout preseason game his rookie year! Dude is a problem with the ball in his hands! So glad Packers develop young players so that their weaknesses don't keep them off the field. Isaiah McDuffie played a great game, but were you surprised we didn't see more of Ty'Ron Hopper with Quay Walker out?
No, because McDuffie was sliding into Walker's "Mike" spot and Hopper was filling in for McDuffie as that third linebacker in base. While Hopper wore the communication headset for the No. 2 defense in the preseason, McDuffie has four-plus years of NFL experience and been playing in Jeff Hafley's defense since Boston College. This is the exact reason Green Bay extended Isaiah McDuffie in the offseason. The Packers always know what they're going to get with him.
Scott from Palos Park, IL
I was convinced Isaiah McDuffie was outmatched and did not belong as a starting LB. I sincerely apologize Mr. McDuffie.
He's belonged from the very beginning, a real find in the sixth round of that 2021 NFL Draft.
The Green Bay Packers celebrated in the locker room after defeating the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 23, 2025.

Al from Green Bay, WI
Other than on the stat sheet, it didn't matter in the least. . . But when I saw the McDuffie interception, I thought Rashan Gary actually knocked the ball loose from McCarthy before the forward passing motion. In which case, Gary gets a strip sack and McDuffie gets an unusual fumble recovery. I saw no replay that would confirm or refute my speculation. What did you see?
Gary was credited with a deflection because it was a forward pass, which I agreed with.
Dave from Edina, MN
I spent the end of the fourth quarter saying, "We need to get two safeties to win this game!" I'm not superstitious, but I'm a little 'stitious.
And you nearly got it.
Ricky from Alexandria, VA
Waited all game long for the broadcasters to announce Jordan Morgan with an injury, only to find out postgame that not only was Anthony Belton rotating in at RG but finished out the game there. The O-line has been a major sore spot all season, but Escalade looked like he was moving bodies inside. Any thoughts on how our jars on the shelf will be handled, or should be just be lucky to have a first- and second-rounder who need playing time?
Belton looked natural inside and has such a massive base to move defensive tackles off the point. We'll see if the rotation continues Thanksgiving, but Belton didn't look out of position at all playing guard.
Jean from Montreal, Canada
What is the team schedule that leads to the early afternoon Thanksgiving game? Any day off? No full contact practice I presume?
It's an "above the shoulders" week as Matt LaFleur likes to say – a lot of rehab, meetings and walkthroughs instead of practice. You just gotta get your body right and see what happens.
Dan from De Pere, WI
Hey guys, just a couple comments. In regard to the conservative complaint, they needed to score far more points in the fourth quarter than they had all game. No sense taking risks. The punt fumble showed how quickly momentum can change. I hope fans noticed this defense is elite when they're given a two-score lead. I hope we get to see what this team can do in the playoffs with all the starters. They make two-score leads doable. Fingers crossed
It's a different game when any defense can pin its ears back. Add Micah Parsons into the equation and pray for the quarterback. Sunday was the Packers' most complete performance of the year and it came with impeccable timing entering this stretch of NFC North games.
Matt from Kula, HI
The one consistent thing about this team throughout the season has been the outstanding play of Micah Parsons. What are his chances of getting DPOY? Who would be his competition for that award?
Myles Garrett is having a ridiculous year for the wayward Cleveland Browns, but Parsons needs to be in the conversation. We still have six regular-season games left, but he looks like the missing piece on one of the NFL's best defenses.
Dan from Kenosha, WI
After the Vikings game, I cannot help but believe that a heathy Devonte Wyatt is crucial to pass-rush dominance. His ability to push the center of the pocket leaves the QB at the mercy of the edge rushers. He was so impactful during that game beyond his two sacks. Do you agree?
Parsons got the most attention (and rightfully so), but the defensive front was rushing as one and everyone was eating.
Tallon from Castle Rock, CO
Good game by Jordan Love, what exactly is his injury? How does that injury affect a quarterback? The broadcast kept mentioning how he was handing the ball off weird. Didn't seem to bother his throws though!
Love is reportedly dealing with an AC joint sprain to his left/non-throwing shoulder, which is why his throws look "normal." He toughed it out on Sunday and played a smart game considering the quick Thursday turnaround.
Venny from Montgomery, AL
I didn't mind the conservative approach, especially with the game in hand. That being said I'm interested in knowing the total snap counts between the Lions and Packers. Like most of us, I wasn't thrilled at the result of the Lions game but was pleased that they went to OT on a short week.
The Lions face a tough turnaround playing on turf twice in a span of four days. That's extremely taxing on players' bodies, and I can't help but imagine contributed to Detroit's sluggish start against Green Bay two years ago on Thanksgiving.
Bill from Menominee, MI
In a game Brandon McManus looked his old self, I really thought they might let him rip that 57-yard attempt at the end. Then I came to my senses and thought, "Why ruin a good thing?" Kickers have plenty of chances in practice and warmups to see what their bodies are capable of. There wasn't much to gain on those three possible points versus a miss in the stat line or a reaggravated quad.
Playing field position late was the way to go, especially with the way Daniel Whelan is punting the ball right now. I remarked to Spoff that game was exactly what the doctor ordered for McManus, who had three very makeable field goals to help get back into a rhythm again.
Ray from Phoenix, AZ
Boy, those who think the cost to get Parsons was too high are eating some crow now. Another guy though that deserves to be in the Packers' midseason MVP voting is Daniel Whelan. He continues to do a Ray Guy impersonation every game. I am sure glad he is locked up for several years – worth every dime!
Thank goodness for the XFL.
Caleb from Leadville, CO
Was this the performance to springboard a playoff run? Would solidifying the OL personnel be considered critical to reaching their stated goal of No. 14?
I hope so. It's hard to win a championship without an offensive line. As far as Sunday's performance, hopefully it was enough to springboard Green Bay into Thanksgiving and then we'll see what December holds.
Monty from Velva, ND
Hey Wes, tell me you saw the defensive players and the crowd doing the SKOL clap after Evan Williams picked off a pass. Is that your favorite celebration ever? Ranks way up there for me!
The Lambeau Field crowd sure seemed to love it.
Donia from Fairbanks, AK
I've been off the grid for awhile so my apologies if this has been asked. Is Jayden Reed expected to come back this year?
Hopefully sometime in the next three weeks. The Packers opened his return window on Friday, and it appears he got through that first practice no worse for wear. Reed was estimated as limited Monday.
Vince from Mableton, GA
Hey Wes! I'm excited for reinforcements. With Lukas Van Ness and Jayden Reed on the way, things are looking up. One guy I haven't heard about is Brenton Cox Jr. Is he eligible to return this year? How is he doing? That guy also has a motor and has outproduced his playing time.
I don't have an update on Cox other than he's been around the building. Green Bay can still designate five more players to return from injured reserve during the regular season, but Cox hasn't practiced since suffering the groin injury in the opener against Detroit.
Robert from Verona, WI
It seems a lot of people think the NFC North is the toughest division in the NFC, but I have to think the NFC West holds that honor. Both divisions have three teams with very good records, but I still have a tough time believing that the Bears are the real deal. What do you think?
Ask me a month from now.
Ben from Cripple Creek, CO
The Bears aren't just playing the Eagles … they're playing a good Eagles team that fumbled the game away against a division rival when they had that game basically in the bag. Oh, it's also in PHI – not in CHI. That'll be an interesting game to show where the Bears really are.
Curt comments aside, this is a key stretch coming up for Chicago. It begins with the defending Super Bowl champions but meetings with Green Bay and a Week 17 tilt with San Francisco loom large.
Kyle from Osceola, WI
As I sit here in my deer stand reading an Inbox discussion about alternate/third color jerseys, I humbly submit that blaze orange would be a great look, and Wisconsin's half a million fellow hunters might well agree. Plus, your marketing folks could have a field day with a Thanksgiving week "Set Lambeau A-Blaze" game day theme. Make it happen, fellas!
I don't know about the Packers, but the Milwaukee Bucks should absolutely have a "Blaze Orange" game.
Kevin from Kirkland, IL
I disagree with blindly choosing defense in OT. You may have the advantage of knowing what you need to score, but you have the disadvantage of time remaining, especially if you are playing a good offense or are playing bad defensively, or your defense was just on the field to end regulation. You may end up with a limited playbook because there are only 3-4 minutes left (average TD drive is 5:12) and all teams micro-manage timing on end of half drives now. It's different than HS or college.
That's still plenty of time, especially with two timeouts.
Scott from Iron Mountain, MI
Once again, the Vikings game shows that playing a mistake-free game gives every team an excellent chance to win. It was so good to see illegal procedure, special teams and holding calls reduced.
As long as both teams are playing by the same rules, I ain't got a problem.
Kevin from New Milford, CT
Possibly the best line in radio history coming from Larry McCarren, talking about Aaron Jones: "God bless him, but I hope he has a bad day." Definite spit take material.
It reminds me of Miami coach Mike McDaniel hugging Washington receiver Deebo Samuel after working together in San Francisco. In saying their goodbyes, McDaniel finished with "Have a terrible game today." Real.
Dave from Lake Zurich, IL
The Packers game took about two hours and 40 minutes. I'll take that over a four-hour college game any day.
I'm hoping for another quick one this Thursday in Detroit. Grandma Mary has a turkey leg waiting for me.
Herbert from Palm Desert, CA
Good morning, Wes. I went to packers.com to see the remaining schedule for the last third of the season and see that it says: Just beat the Lions!
Gobble, gobble.
