GREEN BAY – Packers defensive lineman Micah Parsons has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Sunday's 27-23 win over Arizona.
Playing 54 defensive snaps against the Cardinals, Parsons recorded five tackles, five quarterback hits, four tackles for loss and a career-high three sacks, two of which came during the fourth quarter.
Parsons had a career-high 11 QB pressures against Arizona, the most by a Packers defender since NFL Next Gen Stats started recording pressures in 2016.
The 26-year-old pass rusher joins eight-time first-team All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald as the only NFL players to register 11-plus QB pressures, three-plus sacks and four-plus tackles for loss in a game.
The Cardinals chose not to double-team Parsons with as much regularity as other teams did during the Packers' first five games, and the four-time Pro Bowler capitalized while rushing Arizona QB Jacoby Brissett from all across the defensive front.
"For me, I don't rush with a plan, I just rush to go," said Parsons after the game. "I just know full speed and I don't really say, 'This is what I'm going to do.' I just try and attack him how he attacks me, and I was just attacking today, and the coverage was a huge aspect. He couldn't get to his first read."
Green Bay acquired Parsons in a trade from Dallas on the eve of the season for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. He signed a long-term extension with the Packers to complete the deal.
The early returns have been promising. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end leads the NFL in pressures (41, according to NGS) while ranking third in pressure rate (22.3%). He's tied for fifth in QB hits (13) and sixth in sacks (5½).
The win over the Cardinals marked the 16th time Parsons has posted eight-plus QB pressures in a game since entering the NFL in 2021, (according to TruMedia). That's the most in the league over that span.
This is the fourth time Parsons has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. He was previously honored during Week 2 of the 2023 season, Week 5 in 2022 and Week 8 of Parsons' rookie campaign in 2021.
"Obviously he changes their defense, man. Just because of the fact the attention he demands," running back Josh Jacobs said.
"To be able to be a guy that elite of a player and to have probably the best game of his career (Sunday) – and still could've had one more (sack) – I think it speaks volumes to who he is and what type of player we have in him."
Green Bay Packers DL Micah Parsons had a career-high three sacks against the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 19, 2025.
