The Green Bay Packers have hired Bobby Babich (BAB-itch) as secondary/pass game coordinator, Daniel Bullocks as cornerbacks coach, Noah Pauley as wide receivers coach, Sam Siefkes (SEEF-kiss) as linebackers coach, Scott Fuchs (rhymes with "books") as defensive analyst, T.C. McCartney as offensive quality control coach and Will Smart as defensive quality control coach, and promoted DeMarcus Covington to OLBs/run game coordinator/assistant head coach - defense, Luke Getsy to quarterbacks coach/assistant head coach - offense, Vince Oghobaase (oh-guh-BAH-see) to defensive line coach, Rob Grosso (GROW-so) to assistant wide receivers coach, Cory Harkey to assistant special teams coach and Jeff Koonz to assistant special teams coach. Head Coach Matt LaFleur made the announcements on Thursday.
Babich joins the Packers after nine seasons with the Buffalo Bills as assistant defensive backs coach (2017), safeties coach (2018-21), linebackers coach (2022-23) and defensive coordinator (2024-25). He was part of a staff that helped the Bills rank No. 1 in the NFL over that span in total defense (314.6 ypg), passing defense (199.1 ypg), yards allowed per play (5.1), yards allowed per passing attempt (6.0), INTs (146) and takeaways (240). Babich coached at Florida International University in 2016, where he served as the secondary coach/defensive pass game coordinator. He spent the previous three seasons with the Cleveland Browns, serving as the assistant secondary/safeties coach in 2015 and the assistant defensive backs coach in 2013-14. Babich's first NFL experience came with the Carolina Panthers, where he served as an administrative assistant to the coaching staff in 2011 and as a defensive assistant in 2012. Prior to that, he was the secondary coach at Eastern Illinois for four seasons (2007-10) and spent one year (2006) as a graduate assistant at Kent State. Babich played defensive back at North Dakota State (2002-05), where he tied for the team lead in INTs as a senior and was a two-time all-academic selection.
Bullocks is entering his 11th season coaching in the NFL and comes to the Packers from the San Francisco 49ers, where he was the defensive passing game specialist/defensive backs (2024-25), defensive backs coach (2023), safeties coach (2019-22) and assistant defensive backs coach (2017-18). During his time with the 49ers, Bullocks was part of a defensive staff that helped San Francisco rank in the top five in the NFL in total defense (No. 2, 318.4 ypg), yards allowed per play (No. 2, 5.2), passing yards per attempt (No. 4, 6.80) and passing defense (No. 5, 212.8 ypg) from 2017-25. Bullocks helped the 49ers rank in the top 10 in the league in total defense in six straight seasons (2019-24), the lone NFL team to do so over that span. Bullocks' first NFL coaching experience came with Jacksonville in 2016, where he served as the assistant defensive backs coach. Prior to his time coaching in the NFL, he was the cornerbacks coach at Eastern Michigan (2015) and the secondary coach at Northern Iowa (2012-14). The former second-round pick (No. 40 overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft out of the University of Nebraska played in 31 games with 22 starts at safety for the Detroit Lions (2006-09).
Pauley joins the Packers after coaching at the collegiate level for 13 seasons, where he tutored three wide receivers that went on to be selected in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft over a four-year span in Christian Watson (second round by Green Bay in 2022), Jayden Higgins (second round in 2025) and Jaylin Noel (third round in 2025). He spent the last three seasons at Iowa State, where he served as the pass game coordinator/wide receivers coach in 2024-25 and the wide receivers coach in 2023. Prior to joining Iowa State, Pauley spent four seasons as the wide receivers coach at North Dakota State (2019-22), where he helped the Bison win two Division I FCS national titles (2019 and 2021). While at NDSU in 2022, he assisted with Green Bay's WRs during OTAs as part of the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. Pauley began his coaching career at his alma mater, Minnesota-Duluth, serving as the offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach (2016-18), a graduate assistant (2013-14) and as a student assistant (2011). He was a four-year starter at Minnesota-Duluth (2007-10), where he was a part of teams that posted a combined 45-8 record (.849) and won two Division II national titles (2008 and 2010).
Siefkes comes to Green Bay after serving as the defensive coordinator for Virginia Tech in 2025. He is entering his fifth season in the NFL, having previously worked as the linebackers coach for the Arizona Cardinals (2023-24), where in 2024 he helped the Cardinals rank No. 4 in the league in points allowed per game (19.6) and allow the fewest total TDs (20) and the fewest passing TDs (10) in the NFL over the final 11 games. Siefkes spent the previous two years as the assistant linebackers coach (2022) and as a defensive quality control coach (2021) for the Minnesota Vikings. Prior to his time in Minnesota, Siefkes was the defensive coordinator/inside linebackers coach at Wofford College (2018-20) and at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (2016-17), a defensive graduate assistant at the University of Wisconsin (2015), a defensive/special teams quality control coach at Florida International (2014), a student assistant at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (2012-13) and a strength and conditioning intern at the Air Force Academy in the summer of 2013. The Oconomowoc, Wis., native played defensive back at Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2011 before injuries ended his career.
Fuchs joins the Packers after spending the last two seasons (2024-25) as the assistant offensive line coach for the Tennessee Titans. He came to the NFL after spending 30 seasons coaching in college. Fuchs worked as the offensive line coach for the University of Kansas (2021-23), University at Buffalo (2019-20), University of Wyoming (2014-18), North Dakota State University (2009-13), Southern Illinois University (2008), Grand Valley State University (2007), University of Nebraska Omaha (2003-06), University of Minnesota-Crookston (2000-02) and Valley City State University (1997-98). He also coached the defensive line at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (1999) and was a graduate assistant at his alma mater, North Dakota State University (1994-96). As a senior offensive guard for the Bison, the Minot, N.D., native earned first-team All-America honors from the Kodak/American Football Coaches Association in 1993.
McCartney comes to the Packers with 10 years of NFL coaching experience, most recently as the quarterbacks coach for the New England Patriots (2024). He helped coach Drake Maye, who became the sixth player in franchise history to be selected to the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Prior to his time in New England, McCartney worked for four years with the Cleveland Browns, first as an offensive assistant (2020-21) and then as tight ends coach (2022-23). In 2019, he coached quarterbacks for the Denver Broncos and was an offensive assistant/quality control coach for the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 as well as 2017-18. Between his two stints with the 49ers, McCartney was a graduate assistant/quality control coach at his alma mater, Louisiana State University (2016), where he played quarterback from 2007-10. He got his first NFL coaching experience in 2014 as an offensive assistant with the Cleveland Browns. McCartney began his coaching career as a graduate assistant/offensive assistant for LSU (2011) and the University of Colorado (2012-13).
Smart comes to the Packers from Vanderbilt University, where he was recently promoted to outside linebackers/edges coach. During the 2025 season, Smart worked as the pass rush specialist for Vanderbilt, helping the Commodores post the most wins (10) and SEC victories (six) in school history. He played on the defensive line (2019-21) at Wake Forest before injuries forced him to medically retire. Smart went on to spend two seasons with the Demon Deacons as a student assistant with the coaching staff (2022-23), working primarily with the defensive line, and one year as a defensive graduate assistant (2024).
Getsy returned to the Packers last year as a senior assistant. He originally joined Green Bay as an offensive quality control coach (2014-15) and would go on to coach wide receivers (2016-17) and quarterbacks (2019-21), and added passing game coordinator (2020-21) to his positional duties. In his time between stints with Green Bay, Getsy was the offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach for Mississippi State (2018) and the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears (2022-23) and Las Vegas Raiders (2024). Prior to his first stint with the Packers, he coached on the collegiate level for seven seasons (2007-13).
Oghobaase enters his third season with the Packers after working as assistant defensive line coach the past two years. He came to Green Bay after spending four seasons coaching the defensive line at Boston College (2020-23). Prior to his time at BC, Oghobaase coached the defensive line for UCLA in 2018-19. In 2016-17, he served as the assistant defensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers, Oghobaase began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Duke (2011-12) and Ohio State (2013-15). He was a four-year starter as a player at Duke (2006-09), earning freshman All-American honors (2006), honorable mention All-ACC twice (2008-09) and third-team All-America honors from The Sporting News (2009).
Grosso enters his fourth season with Green Bay after serving as an offensive quality control coach for the Packers since 2023. He came to Green Bay after working as a defensive quality control coach for the Arizona Cardinals from 2019-22. Prior to working for the Cardinals, Grosso was the assistant to the head coach under Vance Joseph for the Denver Broncos in 2018. With the Broncos, he also assisted with the team's outside linebackers and special teams. Grosso was elevated to that position after serving as an operations intern with the Broncos during the 2017 season. He worked with the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League during the 2017 season as a coaching/player personnel intern. Grosso got his start in the NFL with Denver for two years (2015-16) as a training camp operations intern before working as a volunteer assistant scout with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders (2016-17) of the Canadian Football League and as a scout for Sports Info Solutions (2016). The former wide receiver at John Carroll University (2011-13) helped with his alma mater's wide receivers for two seasons as a student coaching/recruiting assistant following his playing days.
Harkey is in his second season with Green Bay after working as the special teams quality control coach last season. He came to the Packers after working as the assistant special teams coach for the Buffalo Bills for three seasons (2022-24). Prior to his time in the NFL, he worked as the tight ends coach at Tennessee State (2021) and was the tight ends coach/special teams coordinator at Azusa Pacific (2019-20). Harkey played in the NFL from 2012-16, appearing in 64 games with 28 starts for the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams after originally entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA.
Koonz came to Green Bay last year as a defensive assistant after a long collegiate coaching career, including five seasons (2020-24) at West Virginia University as the special teams coordinator and inside linebackers coach. He also worked as the defensive coordinator for the Mountaineers for the last part of the 2024 season. Koonz came to West Virginia after serving as the inside linebackers coach at Ole Miss for the 2019 season. Prior to that, he spent two years coaching the linebackers at North Texas (2017-18), adding co-defensive coordinator duties for the 2018 season. Koonz spent the previous three years at Cincinnati, coaching the safeties in 2014, the linebackers in 2015-16 as well as working as co-defensive coordinator in 2016. The Wallkill, N.Y, native also coached in college at Louisiana Tech (2010-13), Texas (2009 and 2005-06), Iowa State (2007-08) and Auburn (2004).
