The Green Bay Packers signed CB Tony Brown to the active roster from the practice squad, signed DL Deon Simon to the practice squad and placed DL Muhammad Wilkerson on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Saturday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

Brown, a 6-foot, 199-pound rookie, was signed to the Packers practice squad on Sept. 3. He was originally signed by the Los Angeles Chargers out of the University of Alabama on May 11, but was released on Sept. 1. In four seasons, Brown played in 51 games for the Crimson Tide, posting 89 tackles (58 solo), 4.5 tackles for a loss, seven passes defensed, three interceptions, a half-sack and a forced fumble. He was awarded special teams player of the week six times by the Alabama coaching staff. Brown also competed in track and field for the Crimson Tide.

Simon, a 6-foot-4, 332-pound second-year player out of Northwestern State (La.), was originally selected in the seventh round (No. 223 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. He spent most of 2015-17 on either the practice squad or active roster of the Jets. Simon appeared in 16 games with one start for the Jets, recording 28 tackles (20 solo), 1.5 sacks and a pass defensed. After being released by the Jets following training camp, he spent the first three weeks of this season on the practice squad of the Tennessee Titans before being released on Sept. 25. Simon will wear No. 79 for the Packers.
