GREEN BAY – Packers running back Josh Jacobs, receiver Christian Watson and safety Evan Williams have been selected as the 2025 Tom Mulhern Stand-Up Guy Award recipients, as voted on by the Green Bay chapter of the Professional Football Writers of America.

The annual award is presented to the Packers players who have best helped reporters covering the team do their jobs effectively.

It's the second time Jacobs and Watson have been honored. Jacobs shared the award with safety Xavier McKinney last year while Watson was previously recognized in 2023.

"I'm trying to be excellent in all phases of my job. This is a part of it," said Watson of the award. "Obviously you guys have jobs to do, just try to make everybody's lives easier. It only helps us out when you guys are writing stories about us, we have a good relationship with you guys."

In addition to being readily available to the media, Watson and Jacobs were transparent about their rehab and recovery from their respective knee injuries this season.

Watson missed the first half of the 2025 season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in the 2024 regular-season finale in Chicago.

Until this week, Jacobs had been listed on the weekly injury report after sustaining a bone bruise against the New York Giants in mid-November. Jacobs is the second player to win the award in back-to-back years, joining Davante Adams (2020-21).

"I feel like the type of people that you all are to us and the type of relationship that we have with you guys, you make it real easy to come in and want to speak," Jacobs said. "I feel like the questions you even ask are very detailed questions to the point where I can give an elaborate answer. For me, I just appreciate it."

It's the first time Williams has been honored with the award. A fourth-round pick out of Oregon last year, Williams was voted to the PFWA all-rookie team in 2024 and emerged as a locker-room leader during his sophomore season in Green Bay.

"I feel like y'all deserve our respect," Williams said. "Y'all jobs are hard enough as it is, having to deal with guys like us. Just figured giving you guys straightforward answers, honesty, I just feel like is how I was raised and giving respect to people who have respect for us."

The Stand-Up Guy Award is named after the late Tom Mulhern, a former Packers and Wisconsin Badgers beat writer for the Wisconsin State Journal and Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel who passed away at age 56 in October 2014.
