December is for playing to late-season identity

If Seahawks ever left, they're back

Pedro from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Vic, people are saying the Seahawks are back after a win against a 49ers team that is not playing its best football at the moment, so I'd rather wait and see. What do you think about it?

The Seahawks are No. 13 overall on offense; No. 1 in rushing and No. 29 in passing. On defense, they're Nos. 1, 5 and 3. I don't know if they ever left but, if they did, they're back.

Paul from Fernandina Beach, FL

Hey, Vic, I'm coming to the game on Monday night from here in Florida. I'm going to be traveling from La Crosse to Green Bay and would really love a gas card to help out. Think you could help?

Even though Amelia Island is one of my favorite places in the world, I will not accept begging. No gas for you.

Mike from North Aurora, IL

Vic, during the broadcast on Sunday, the announcers were commenting on how surprised they were the field was holding up to the action. They suggested Lambeau Field is typically not a great surface this time of year.

They forgot the first rule in the rulebook: Everything in Green Bay is better than everything everywhere else. Ask any Packers fan.

Milton from Midland, MI

Vic, in your opinion, what is the next growth step for the Packers?

The next step is to settle into a repeating late-season identity. This is what we do and this is how we do it. That's what wins in the postseason.

Paul from Eau Claire, WI

Vic, why is it some teams always seem to do decent, at least .500, yet, other teams always seem to be in a slump year after year? What does it take to right the ship?

A franchise quarterback.

Gary from Vista, CA

If we took the statistics for all teams from the last five games, where would the Packers be in run defense?

In the last five games, the Packers have allowed an average of 110.6 rushing yards per game and 4.3 yards per rush. The 110.6 would rank 16th in the league and the 4.3 would rank 20th. The last five games would include the New Orleans game, in which the Saints rushed for 193 yards. Clay Matthews began playing inside linebacker in the next game; that's when improvement in the run defense became significant.

Ben from Hudson, WI

Vic, what do you see as the Packers' biggest weakness heading into December?

I don't see a weakness.
