GREEN BAY – The Packers struggled on offense all night long and could only manage one score in losing to the Eagles, 10-7, on Monday Night Football at Lambeau Field.
The number of potential scoring chances squandered was too high to count, with penalties and sloppy play holding Green Bay back. The game ended as a desperation 64-yard field goal try by K Brandon McManus wasn't close.
With the loss, the Packers dropped to third place in the NFC North with a 5-3-1 record. The Eagles improved to 7-2.
Green Bay's defense played an admirable game against the defending Super Bowl champs, holding QB Jalen Hurts to 183 yards passing (15-of-26, one TD, 92.3 rating) and RB Saquon Barkley to just 60 rushing yards on 22 carries.
But a 41-yard catch and run by Barkley followed by a 36-yard TD pass to WR De'Vonta Smith on the very next play got the Eagles their lone touchdown for a 10-0 lead in the fourth quarter. Smith finished with four catches for 69 yards and the score, with TE Dallas Goedert adding four catches for 43 yards.
The Packers didn't get on the scoreboard until just under six minutes remained, on a TD run by RB Josh Jacobs (21 carries, 74 yards). After a defensive stop, Green Bay's next possession looked promising as the ball was nearing midfield, but a fourth-and-1 run was foiled and the Eagles took over.
The defense got one more stop but the Packers had no more timeouts and just 27 seconds on the clock. One pass completion got the ball across the 50 but the long field goal was just too far.
QB Jordan Love was 20-of-36 for 176 yards and a 68.8 passer rating. WR Christian Watson had two catches for 45 yards, WR Dontayvion Wicks had four catches for 38 yards, and Jacobs added five receptions for 33 yards.
Here's a recap of all the action:

Packers and Eagles scoreless after first quarter
Philadelphia won the coin toss and deferred. Savion Williams returned the opening kickoff 33 yards to the Green Bay 39. Josh Jacobs touched the ball on the first five snaps, gaining 20 yards.
Quarterback Jordan Love successfully converted a fourth-and-1 from the Eagles' 41 with a 2-yard sneak up the middle. Eagles linebacker Jalyx Hunt sacked Love for an 11-yard loss on second down and the Packers punted after a deep incompletion intended for Christian Watson.
Daniel Whelan pinned Philadelphia back at its own 9 on a 40-yard punt that wasn't returned. The Eagles opened with a heavy running attack behind Saquon Barkley.
Jalen Hurts opened with a successful tush-push on third-and-1 before Barkley broke a 15-yard run before Hurts navigated a third-and-10 with an 11-yard pass to Will Shipley. The Eagles converted another third-and-5 with a check down for seven yards to DeVonta Smith.
Hurts scrambled on second-and-10 from the Green Bay 26, but linebacker Edgerrin Cooper forced a fumble that cornerback Keisean Nixon recovered and returned to the Packers' 36.
Love fumbled the snap but jumped on it, resulting in a loss of three yards. Love scrambled for 12 yards on the final play, a third-and-13, of the first quarter.

Packers and Eagles remain scoreless at halftime
After missing false starts on both teams earlier in the game, referee Clay Martin called a false start on the Packers' attempt on a fourth-and-1 sneak. Green Bay punted and Philadelphia retook possession at its 21.
Linebacker Quay Walker tackled Barkley for a 3-yard loss on first down. Defensive end Colby Wooden then tackled Barkley for a 1-yard loss on the next play and Philadelphia went three-and-out after a 7-yard checkdown to Shipley on third-and-14.
Green Bay took over at its 22. Jacobs gained five yards on first down and then another 11 after following Josh Whyle's block off right tackle. The Packers punted after a 6-yard pass to Luke Musgrave on fourth-and-8.
Dallas Goedert gained eight yards off a play-action rollout on first down, but Keisean Nixon broke up a pass across the middle on second down and the Eagles went three-and-out. Braden Mann's shanked punt traveled only 31 yards and Green Bay took over at its 41 but also went three-and-out after two incompletions and a 3-yard Emanuel Wilson run.
The Eagles took over at their 26 after Whelan's 44-yard punt. Evan Williams was called for defensive pass interference on third-and-2, as Philadelphia avoided another three-and-out.
Right tackle Lane Johnson left with an injury. The Eagles faced first-and-25 after a false start and holding penalty. Hurts was forced to scramble on third-and-11, sliding after a 4-yard gain.
Green Bay took over at its 32 after a 10-yard Romeo Doubs return on Mann's second punt with 1 minute, 54 seconds left in the first half. His first came back due to a holding penalty on Philadelphia's first attempt.
The Packers opened with an 8-yard rollout to Musgrave to the 40. Jacobs picked up the first down with a 5-yard run and then caught a 5-yard check down. Love scrambled for nine yards to convert the second first half.
Green Bay used its first timeout with 42 seconds left after a 9-yard pass to Jacobs to the Philadelphia 32. Doubs converted the first down with a 5-yard out. Love was sacked for no loss on the next play and Elgton Jenkins came up slowly. Sean Rhyan replaced him at center.
Love was sacked again on the next play. This time it was a strip sack recovered by the Eagles.

Eagles lead Packers 3-0 after three
Philadelphia pushed the ball downfield on its next possession with two conversions off rollout passes to Dallas Goedert, who also caught a 22-yard pass in the middle of the field.
Walker had his second tackle of the loss, again for three yards, on a Tank Bigsby run to push Philly back to its 20. That play, and a delay of game on the next play, stalled the drive and the Eagles settled for a Jake Elliott 39-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead with 8 minutes, 58 seconds left in the third quarter.
The Packers announced Jenkins was out for the game with an ankle injury. Darian Kinnard reported eligible on Green Bay's first play and Love used the extra protection to complete a 20-yard crosser to Christian Watson to the 47.
After two Jacobs carries for seven yards, Love converted the first down with a 4-yard pass to Dontayvion Wicks. Facing fourth-and-9 from the Philadelphia 41, Love couldn't connect with Bo Melton and Green Bay turned it over on downs.
Defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt tackled Barkley for a 6-yard loss on second down, leading to the Eagles punting after going three-and-out.
The Packers took over at their 20 after a touchback, with a Jacobs stretch run to the left gaining 11 yards on first down. Dontayvion Wicks looked in a 20-yard pass from Love on a corner route to the Eagles' 49.

Eagles hold off Packers 10-7, Green Bay falls to 5-3-1
The fourth quarter began with Love firing a pass to Wicks to convert on third-and-4. The drive stalled after an illegal formation penalty. Bo Melton nearly helped down it inside the 1, but it was ruled a touchback because he didn't re-establish himself after going into the end zone.
Green Bay's defense got Philadelphia into third-and-6, but Barkley broke free on a check down for 41 yards to the Eagles' 36. On the next play, Hurts hit Smith for a 36-yard TD to extend Philadelphia's lead to 10-0 with 10:35 remaining.
Packers announced receiver Romeo Doubs has a chest injury and is questionable to return. Melton caught a 10-yard pass to convert the initial first down. Jacobs gained eight yards on a third-and-2 draw to cross midfield.
Wicks converted another third down with a 10-yard out on third-and-8. On second-and-10, Musgrave drew a 25-yard defensive pass interference penalty against Jihaad Campbell at the Philly 13.
After a 7-yard catch up the middle, Jacobs plowed his way into the end zone on a 6-yard touchdown to cut the Eagles' lead to 10-7 with 5:49 left in regulation.
Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley sent Evan Williams on a run blitz from deep safety to tackle Barkley for a 2-yard loss on first down. Nixon then broke up a second-down pass for Goedert.
Hurts converted on third-and-12 with a 16-yard pass to Smith on a corner route. Barkley converted a third-and-2 with a 5-yard Barkley run.
Green Bay used its first timeout with 2:34 remaining following a 3-yard Barkley run on first down. Parsons pressured Hurt to throw the ball away on second-and-8. Hurts threw the ball away on third down and the Eagles punted.
The Packers started at their 10-yard line after a Nixon fair catch. On third-and-10, Watson caught a 25-yard pass over the middle on a dig route as the game reached the two-minute warning.
Green Bay completed a 9-yard pass to Musgrave before a draw to Jacobs, who fumbled and the Eagles recovered at the Green Bay 39.
On fourth-and-6 after three Barkley runs, the Eagles tried a deep ball to A.J. Brown but Carrington Valentine broke it up for the turnover on downs with 27 seconds left.
Love connected with Melton for a 19-yard pass and Green Bay clocked it. McManus attempted a 64-yard kick to tie it, but it missed left.
