Browns beat Packers, 13-10, with fourth-quarter comeback, walk-off field goal

Green Bay blows 10-0 lead and go-ahead FG try of their own

CLEVELAND – The Packers blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter and then had a go-ahead field goal blocked in the final minute, leading to the Browns winning on a 55-yard walk-off kick, 13-10, on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field.

The Browns didn't score until 3:38 remained in the game, on a field goal, to make it 10-3. The Packers then turned it over on QB Jordan Love's third-down interception, which was run back inside the 5-yard line. The Browns punched it in from there with 3:01 left to tie the game.

The Packers responded by driving into field-goal range, but K Brandon McManus's 43-yard try with less than 30 seconds left was blocked and recovered by the Browns near midfield. Cleveland then used an offsides penalty – one of 14 penalties on the Packers in the game – and two completions to move into range for the winning kick.

The loss dropped the Packers to 2-1 and the Browns improved to 1-2.

For the Packers, Love was 18-of-25 for 183 yards with one TD, one INT and an 89.2 rating. RB Josh Jacobs had 16 carries for 30 yards, with RB Emanuel Wilson adding six carries for 25. WR Matthew Golden had four catches for 52 yards plus 9 rushing yards, and Jacobs had five catches for 44 yards.

For the Browns, QB Joe Flacco was 21-of-36 for 142 yards with one INT for a 55.6 rating. RB Quinshon Judkins had 18 carries for 94 yards and a score, and TE David Njoku had five catches for 40 yards, including the final reception that got the Browns in position for the walk-off.

Packers and Browns scoreless after the first quarter

Tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) and right tackle Zach Tom (oblique) were both active for Green Bay after being listed as

Dawand Jones was injured on the Browns' fourth play and replaced by KT Leveston at right tackle. He would not return due to a knee injury. Cornelius Brown started at left tackle with Jack Conklin out.

The Browns picked up two first downs but stalled out at midfield after Lukas Van Ness pressured Joe Flacco into an incompletion on first down at the Packers' 49. Cleveland punted after two runs gained five yards.

Green Bay started at its own 20 after Corey Bojorquez's 44-yard punt went for a touchback.

The Packers gained eight yards on their first play on an out to Matthew Golden, but Tom left with an oblique injury. Jordan Morgan replaced him at right tackle.

Green Bay went three-and-out after Maliek Collins sacked Jordan Love on second down for a 5-yard loss. Daniel Whelan's 56-yard punt was fair-caught at the Browns' 21.

Cleveland faced first-and-10 after Micah Parsons drew a holding penalty from Lucas. Nate Hobbs tackled Isaiah Bond for a 1-yard loss on second down before Parsons hit Flacco on third-and-4 to force an incompletion.

Green Bay took over at its 36. A quick flare to Golden gained seven yards and Josh Jacobs converted the initial first down on a 6-yard out after he was left uncovered. The Packers ran a direct snap to Savion Williams on second-and-3, setting up a 4-yard Jacobs run for a first down.

Love converted the next first down on a 12-yard slant to Romeo Doubs to the Cleveland 22. The first quarter ended with the Packers facing third-and-9 from the 21.

Packers lead Browns 3-0 at halftime

The second quarter began with Denzel Ward breaking up a third-and-9 out for Dontayvion Wicks.

Brandon McManus made a 39-yard field goal to give Green Bay a 3-0 lead seven seconds into the quarter. The 13-play, 43-yard scoring drive lasted seven minutes, 23 seconds.

Cleveland started at its own 35 after the touchback and gained the initial first down on a 9-yard pass to Cedric Tillman on an out.

Isaiah McDuffie had a 2-yard tackle for a loss on first down and Rashan Gary went untouched through the B-gap for a sack of Flacco for a 7-yard loss on third down to force another punt.

Love hit tight end John FitzPatrick for nine yards on a first-down play-action play. Love caught Cleveland with too many men on the field on third-and-4 following a successful Matt LaFleur challenge.

After a 5-yard rollout, Love completed a 16-yard pass to Romeo Doubs on third-and-5. He converted the next third-and-2 with a designed rollout for 10 yards to the Cleveland 38.

The Packers' drive ended after Love was sacked twice and Green Bay picked up a false start and illegal block in the back penalty. The Packers punted on fourth-and-30 from their 42.

Cleveland took over from its 20 with 2:02 remaining. Quinshon Judkins gained three yards before the two-minute warning.

The Browns converted two first downs before Wyatt Tiller was flagged for holding on third-and-6 from the Green Bay 41. Cleveland went for it on fourth-and-8, but Xavier McKinney picked it off with two seconds left in the half.

Packers lead Browns 10-0 after three quarters

The second half began with the Packers announcing Aaron Banks (groin) is questionable to return. Jordan Morgan moved to left guard and Anthony Belton replaced him at right tackle.

Green Bay gained four yards off a Jacobs draw and five off a Love read-option, but Morgan moved on Tucker Kraft's third-and-1 sneak. The Packers punted after Love was sacked for the fourth time.

Green Bay earned another three-and-out after Gary sacked Flacco for a 10-yard loss on third-and-8, pushing Gary's team-lead to 4½ on the year.

The Packers faced second-and-18 before Jacobs gained 31 yards on an outside screen pass to the Cleveland 48. On third-and-1, Jacobs gained the yard needed off a pitch left for the first down.

Left tackle Rasheed Walker briefly exited after the play, with Belton replacing him and Darian Kinnard entering at right tackle.

Walker returned on the third-and-7 play Love found Wicks on a quick slant for 16 yards, setting up first-and-goal at the Browns' 3.

Josh Jacobs was stopped for no gain on two carries, but the Packers stayed in a no-huddle. On third down, Love found tight end John FitzPatrick for the 3-yard touchdown to push Green Bay's lead to 10-0 with 3:23 left in the third quarter. The 14-play, 71-yard scoring drive lasted 7:41.

Green Bay's defense continued to hold its ground, with Flacco missing Isaiah Bond deep on third-and-4. Cleveland punted and the Packers took over at their own 35 after an unnecessary roughness penalty on Donovan McMillon on the touchback.

The Packers' offense went three-and-out to end the third quarter.

Browns rally to beat Packers 13-10

Cleveland nearly went three-and-out to start the first half, but Judkins gained a yard on a fourth-and-1 run from the Browns' 34. Defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt was injured on the play.

Tillman was flagged for offensive pass interference on a third-and-10 deep ball. Bojorquez punted the ball 58 yards on fourth-and-5, pinning the Packers back at their 2-yard line.

On third-and-8, Love snuck a ball over Denzel Ward's coverage for a 34-yard completion to Matthew Golden down the right sideline. That's as far as Green Bay would get, though, as Daniel Whelan's 63-yard punt went into the end zone for a touchback.

Judkins gained 14 yards on first down before breaking a 38-yard run to the Green Bay 28. On second-and-9, Harold Fannin broke a couple tackles to extend for a 14-yard gain to the Packers' 14.

Javon Bullard was called for defensive holding on third-and-9, giving the Browns a first down at the Packers' 8. After two Judkin runs for four yards, a defensive pass interference call committed against Jerry Jeudy set up first-and-goal from the 1.

Ethan Pocic and Wyatt Teller were flagged for a chop block on second-and-goal, resulting in a 15-yard penalty. Jerome Ford lost four yards on the next play and then three yards on a check-down pass.

Quay Walker and Bullard collided on the third-and-20 tackle of Ford, but both walked off under their own power. Andre Szmyt made a 35-yard field goal to cut Green Bay's lead to 10-3 with 3:45 remaining.

On third-and-3, Cleveland safety Grant Delpit intercepted Love and returned it to the Green Bay 4. Judkins scored a 1-yard TD run to tie the game at 10 with 3:01 remaining.

Romeo Doubs drew a 20-yard defensive pass interference penalty to move Green Bay to the Cleveland 40. Love then rolled out and found Kraft for 18 yards prior to the two-minute warning.

After a fumble and false start, McManus' 43-yard field goal attempt was blocked and Browns took over at their 47. Flacco completed a quick pass to Njoku at the Packers' 37. Szmyt made a 55-yard field goal to comeback the Cleveland comeback.
