Biography

  • Finished No. 2 on the team with five sacks and tied for No. 2 on the team with 11 QB hits last season. Also appeared in both postseason contests, finishing with 1½ sacks (No. 2 on the team) and three QB hits (tied for No. 1 on the team). 
  • Played in all 16 games as a rookie in 2019 and finished No. 5 on the team with 19 QB pressures. Also registered 30 tackles (14 solo), two sacks, three tackles for a loss, a fumble recovery and seven QB hits.
  • Earned first-team All-Big Ten recognition from the league's coaches as a sophomore and as a junior at the University of Michigan, also earning second-team honors from The Associated Press in both of those seasons.
  • Was part of Michigan defenses that ranked in the top three in the country in total defense in all three of his seasons with the Wolverines (No. 2 in 2018, No. 3 in 2017, No. 1 in 2016).
  • Was named the 2015 All-USA Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today following his senior season at Paramus (N.J.) Catholic High School and was rated as the top prospect in the nation by Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN.
