GREEN BAY – All signs are pointing to the Packers getting back receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison from their hamstring injuries for Sunday's game in Los Angeles.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy said on Thursday it "looks good" for their chances, which would give quarterback Aaron Rodgers his top three veteran receivers for the first time since Week 3 at Washington.
"I think those guys look like they're ready," McCarthy said, referring to how Cobb and Allison practiced on Wednesday. "There's another threshold the training room will push them through, but I don't have high concern. Those guys are on course to play."
Rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander, who has missed the last two games with a groin injury, falls into the same category, McCarthy said.
As for the Packers' two receivers on injured reserve – Trevor Davis and Jake Kumerow – McCarthy did not give any indication when they might be activated, but it's definitely under consideration.
"They're ready, they're champing at the bit," McCarthy said. "There's timing to this, too."
The recent contributions of rookie receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown are factors in this equation as well. Their progress has allowed the Packers not to have to rush Davis and Kumerow back into action.
"At the end of the day you need all your players," McCarthy said. "The end of this journey will reflect that."
