Linebackers/Running Game Coordinator

Biography

The Green Bay Packers announced the hire of Anthony Campanile (camp-uh-nell-ee) as linebackers/running game coordinator on March 12, 2024.

Campanile comes to Green Bay after working as the linebackers coach for the Miami Dolphins for four seasons (2020-23). During his time with the Dolphins, he was part of staffs that helped Miami rank No. 4 in the NFL over that span in sacks (185.0), No. 6 in rushing defense (106.4 ypg), No. 8 in takeaways (96) and third-down defense (38.6 pct.) and tied for No. 5 in forced fumbles (56). Campanile coached linebackers at the University of Michigan in 2019, mentoring Khaleke Hudson and Josh Uche, both of whom earned second-team All-Big Ten honors for the first time in their careers. He spent three seasons at Boston College, where he coached defensive backs (2016-17) and added co-defensive coordinator responsibilities in his final season (2018). Campanile helped six of his defensive backs earn All-ACC honors and four of his defensive backs went on to be selected in the NFL Draft. Prior to BC, he spent four seasons coaching both sides of the ball at his alma mater, Rutgers, where he played safety and linebacker (2002-04). He was a defensive assistant (2012), tight ends coach (2013-14) and wide receivers coach (2015). Campanile began his coaching career as a student assistant at Rutgers in 2005. He went on to spend six seasons as a high school coach in New Jersey, beginning as an assistant at his alma mater, Fair Lawn High School, in 2006, and then five years at Don Bosco Prep as linebackers coach (2007-09) and offensive coordinator (2010-11).
