Biography

Hired on March 10, 2023, Kyle Wilber begins his first season as the special teams quality control coach for the Packers. Wilber enters the coaching ranks following a 10-year NFL playing career with the Dallas Cowboys (2012-17) and the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders (2018-21).

During his decade in the league, Wilber appeared in 135 regular-season games as a defensive end and linebacker with 17 starts and registered 104 tackles (70 solo), six tackles for a loss, 3½ sacks, seven QB hits, four passes defensed, a forced fumble and four fumble recoveries on defense. On special teams, he recorded 58 tackles, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Wilber also played in four postseason contests and posted two tackles (one solo) and an interception.

Wilber appeared in 14-plus games in eight consecutive seasons (2013-20) and played in all 16 regular-season contests in five of those seasons. He played in 89 games with 16 starts during his six seasons (2012-17) with the Dallas Cowboys after being selected by the team in the fourth round (No. 113 overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. In 2015, Wilber played in all 16 games for the third straight season and matched his career high with six starts, finishing with 17 tackles (12 solo) on defense and tying for the team lead with nine tackles on special teams. He played in all 16 games for the first time in his career in 2013 and made a career-high six starts, posting a career-best 43 tackles (30 solo), a career-high two sacks, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

Wilber spent the final four years of his playing career with the Raiders, appearing in 46 games with one start from 2018-21 as he contributed primarily on special teams under current Packers assistant head coach/special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia. In 2020, Wilber led the team with eight tackles on special teams.

Wilber attended Wake Forest University (2008-11), where he played in 43 games with 36 starts and posted 195 tackles (117 solo), 35½ tackles for a loss, 13½ sacks, six QB pressures, six passes defensed, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries while adding four blocked kicks. He finished his career ranked No. 6 in school history in sacks and No. 8 in tackles for a loss. Wilber earned third-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition from The NFL Draft Report as a senior in 2011 after posting a career-high 70 tackles (48 solo). He earned third-team All-ACC honors from Phil Steele's College Football as a junior in 2010 after leading the team with a career-high six sacks and a career-best 14½ tackles for a loss. 

Wilber attended Apopka (Fla.) High School, where he earned first-team All-Central Florida and first-team All-Orange County recognition as a senior in 2006 after posting 55 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss and four sacks. He was born April 26, 1989, in Orlando, Fla.

Wilber serves as an ambassador for "Active Minds," a nonprofit organization that promotes mental health for young adults and reaches more than 1.9 million people each year through awareness campaigns, events, advocacy, outreach and more.
