Offensive Quality Control Coach
Biography
McCartney comes to the Packers with 10 years of NFL coaching experience, most recently as the quarterbacks coach for the New England Patriots (2024). He helped coach Drake Maye, who became the sixth player in franchise history to be selected to the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Prior to his time in New England, McCartney worked for four years with the Cleveland Browns, first as an offensive assistant (2020-21) and then as tight ends coach (2022-23). In 2019, he coached quarterbacks for the Denver Broncos and was an offensive assistant/quality control coach for the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 as well as 2017-18. Between his two stints with the 49ers, McCartney was a graduate assistant/quality control coach at his alma mater, Louisiana State University (2016), where he played quarterback from 2007-10. He got his first NFL coaching experience in 2014 as an offensive assistant with the Cleveland Browns. McCartney began his coaching career as a graduate assistant/offensive assistant for LSU (2011) and the University of Colorado (2012-13).
