Biography

  • As a rookie in 2021, played in 13 games and recorded two tackles on special teams.
  • Earned second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in 2020 after ranking No. 5 in the nation and No. 2 in the ACC with a career-best 107 tackles (54 solo).
  • According to stathead.com, was one of three players in the FBS to post at least 100 tackles (107), three sacks (three) and six tackles for a loss (6½) in 2020.
  • Was a preseason All-ACC selection by Athlon and Phil Steele's College Football, but missed all but the last four games of the 2019 season (starting three) due to injury and earned a redshirt.
  • Saw action in all 12 games with six starts at strongside linebacker in 2018, finishing No. 2 on the team with 85 tackles (48 solo).
  • Appeared in all 13 games on special teams and earned some playing time at linebacker as a freshman in 2017, finishing with 11 tackles (three solo) and a pass defensed.
  • Was a three-time captain as a two-way performer at linebacker and running back at Bennett High School in Buffalo, N.Y., setting school records for single-season tackles (161), single-game tackles (29), career touchdowns (70) and career rushing yards (5,529).
