The Green Bay Packers promoted Jason Rebrovich to pass rush specialist on March 10, 2023.
2022 Bio: Entering his ninth season coaching in the NFL, Jason Rebrovich begins his first year with the Packers in 2022 as the team's outside linebackers coach.
Named to his position on Feb. 18, 2022, by Head Coach Matt LaFleur, Rebrovich (reb-row-vitch) comes to Green Bay after most recently working with the Jacksonville Jaguars for four seasons, serving as the defensive line coach in 2019-20 and the assistant defensive line coach in 2017-18. Prior to Jacksonville, he coached with the Buffalo Bills for four seasons (2013-16) and spent 12 seasons (2001-12) coaching at the collegiate level.
In 2020, Rebrovich tutored DL Dawuane Smoot, who led the team in sacks (5½) and QB hits (career-high 17). In 2019, Rebrovich oversaw the development of DE Josh Allen, who led all NFL rookies and broke the single-season franchise record for rookies with 10½ sacks on his way to earning All-Rookie honors from the PFWA. Rebrovich also tutored DL Calais Campbell, who was named to his third consecutive Pro Bowl in '19, and DE Yannick Ngakoue, who was the only player in the league in 2019 to register eight-plus sacks, multiple forced fumbles and an INT return for a touchdown.
As the Jaguars' assistant defensive line coach in 2017-18, Rebrovich helped Campbell become the first player in team history to post 10-plus sacks in back-to-back seasons. In 2017, the Jaguars ranked No. 2 in the league with 55 sacks, the second most in a season in team history, as three defensive linemen earned Pro Bowl recognition (Campbell, Ngakoue, Malik Jackson). Campbell earned first-team All-Pro honors from The Associated Press and set franchise records for sacks in a season (14½) and sacks in a game (4.0 at Houston in Week 1).
Rebrovich held multiple positions with the Bills, serving as the defensive line coach in 2016, the outside linebackers coach in 2015, the assistant defensive line coach in 2014 and as a defensive quality control coach in 2013. In his four seasons with Buffalo, the Bills were tied for No. 3 in the NFL over that span with 171 sacks and posted back-to-back seasons with 50-plus sacks (2013-14) for the first time in team history.
In 2016, Rebrovich's line helped the Bills rank No. 6 in the league in pass defense (223.9 ypg) and No. 8 in sacks (39). As the assistant defensive line coach in 2014, Rebrovich helped the Bills lead the league with 54 sacks, with three different defensive linemen recording a double-digit sack total (Mario Williams, 14½; Marcell Dareus, 10; Jerry Hughes, 10). The Bills also ranked in the top five in the NFL in '14 in opponent passer rating (No. 2, 74.5), points allowed (No. 4, 18.1 ppg), total defense (No. 4, 312.2 ypg) and passing defense (No. 3, 205.8 ypg). In Rebrovich's first season with the team in 2013, he was part of a staff that helped the Bills register a franchise-record 57 sacks. Buffalo ranked No. 1 in the NFL in '13 in opponent completion percentage (55.3), No. 2 in interceptions (23), No. 3 in opponent passer rating (74.9), No. 4 in passing yards allowed (204.4 ypg) and tied for No. 6 in takeaways (30).
Prior to joining the Bills, Rebrovich spent the 2011-12 seasons as a defensive quality control coach at Syracuse. From 2008-10, he served as the defensive coordinator at his alma mater, SUNY Cortland, helping the Red Dragons post a 10-2 record in 2010 and an 11-2 mark in 2008 as the team advanced to the Division III quarterfinals. Rebrovich worked as the defensive line coach and the head strength and conditioning coach at Ferris State from 2005-07 and at Concord in 2004. He began his coaching career at SUNY Cortland, serving as the defensive line coach and head strength and conditioning coach from 2001-03.
Rebrovich played two seasons on the defensive line at SUNY Cortland, recording 40 tackles and 28 QB hurries in eight games as a senior in 1999. He played two seasons at Alfred State College before attending Cortland, serving as a team captain and earning the team's Most Improved Player award in 1997.
Rebrovich was born March 15, 1978, in Clarence, N.Y. He and his wife, Trisha, have two daughters, Reese and Madison, and a son, Chase.
