Chris Gaines enters his fifth season with the Packers' player personnel department and his second as a National Football Scouting Inc. college scout after being named to the position on July 22, 2022. He is responsible for scouting the Southwest region and serves as the team's National Football Scouting representative to the annual NFL Scouting Combine. 

Gaines previously worked as a scouting assistant (2019-22) after originally joining the Packers in 2016 as a football technology assistant.

Prior to joining the Packers, Gaines was a web application developer for Golevel in Port Orange, Fla., from 2013-16.

Gaines graduated from Florida State in 2013 with a B.S. degree in information technology. He graduated cum laude from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, playing football all four years and earning two letters as a left tackle. Born in Seattle, Wash., Gaines lives in Green Bay.
