GREEN BAY – Packers cornerback Kevin King has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Washington, while the team again listed quarterback Aaron Rodgers as questionable.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy said during his Friday morning news conference he expects Rodgers (knee) to practice Saturday. Since there no longer is a probable designation, players must either be removed from the injury report on Friday or listed as questionable.
King didn't practice this week after leaving Sunday's 29-29 tie with the Minnesota Vikings with a groin injury. The Packers also listed veteran cornerback Davon House as questionable with a biceps injury that limited him in practice this week. However, McCarthy said he's hopeful House will play in Washington.
With King out, rookie cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson likely will see expanded roles in the Packers' secondary after looking impressive during the first two games of the season.
Rookie linebacker Oren Burks (shoulder) is questionable to make his NFL regular-season debut Sunday. He was a full participant in Thursday's padded practice inside the Don Hutson Center.
Second-year safety Josh Jones also is questionable after missing the first two games with an ankle injury. He returned in a limited capacity Thursday after not practicing the past two weeks.
