GREEN BAY – The Packers didn't just answer the Bengals' long drive to start the second half with a score of their own.
They didn't even give Cincinnati's defense a chance to get off the field, marching 66 yards in nine plays with no third downs. It was capped with a TD on the first play of the fourth quarter and is the Chevy Drive of the Week from the 27-18 triumph.
Cincinnati forced the Packers to respond after the Bengals put together a 17-play, 78-yard TD drive that consumed the first 10 minutes, 14 seconds of the third quarter. Green Bay's lead was suddenly just 10-7.
But the offense went right back on the attack and was never in danger of stalling out, moving the chains anytime it was second down and not needing any third-down conversions.
Bo Melton's 3-yard end-around was followed by an 8-yard pass to WR Romeo Doubs for the initial first down. RB Josh Jacobs got another with an 11-yard run to get across midfield.
Then Jacobs ran for 3 yards and QB Jordan Love found Doubs for 12 more. After Love hit TE Luke Musgrave for 7 yards, Jacobs moved the sticks with a run for 5.
Jacobs finished the third quarter with a 3-yard run, setting up second-and-7 from the Cincinnati 14-yard line after the quarter break. With the offense switching to the south end of Lambeau Field, the Packers' offensive line opened up a huge hole in the middle of the Bengals' defense and Jacobs powered right through it for a 14-yard TD, his second score of the game.
Players on the sideline discussed the old parting of the Red Sea cliché. Jacobs joked he could've fallen down, gotten back up and still scored.
From there, the Packers knew they had the Bengals on their heels and scored 10 more points over their next two possessions as well.
