Biography
Elgersma (6-5, 227), a rookie from London, Ontario, Canada, attended the Packers' rookie minicamp as a tryout player. He was selected in the second round (No. 18 overall) of the Canadian Football League Draft by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Elgersma played four seasons at Wilfrid Laurier University, appearing in 41 games and completing 793 of 1,121 passes (70.7 pct.) for 10,547 yards (257.2 yards per game) with 78 touchdowns and 33 interceptions. He also carried the ball 127 times for 605 yards (4.8 avg.) and 18 TDs. In 2024, Elgersma earned the Hec Crighton Award as the Most Outstanding Player in U SPORTS football and was the Uteck Bowl Nike Offensive Player of the Game and the Yates Cup Most Valuable Player. He was a two-time MVP of Ontario University Athletics (OUA), earned a spot on the 2023-24 U Sports All-Canadian second team and was a OUA first-team all-star.
