Biography

  • Connected on 40 of 54 passes (74.1 pct.) for 550 yards and three TDs with no INTs for a 124.8 passer rating last season, the top single-season mark for passer rating in NFL history among QBs with 50-plus attempts.
  • Among QBs with 50-plus attempts, ranked No. 1 in the league in yards per attempt (10.19) in 2024, the top single-season mark (min. 50 att.) since Vikings QB Gus Frerotte (10.62 in 2003).
  • Started two games last season (Weeks 2-3) in place of an injured Jordan Love and became the first NFL quarterback since the 1970 merger to post a 120-plus passer rating and 40-plus rushing yards in both of his first two starts with a team.
  • Became only the fifth QB since the merger with a 120-plus passer rating in both of his first two starts with a team, joining Brad Johnson (1999 with Washington), Jeff George (1994 with Atlanta), Jim Plunkett (1980 with the Oakland Raiders) and John Hadl (1973 with the Los Angeles Rams).
  • Became the first QB to be drafted out of Liberty when he was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the third round (No. 86 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
  • Rushed for 1,822 yards during his two seasons at Liberty (2020-21), the most by any QB in the country over that span, and 27 TDs, tied for No. 1 among QBs.
  • Led the FBS with 74 total TDs in 2020-21, posting 47 passing TDs and 27 rushing TDs over that span.
