Biography

  • Played in 14 regular-season games in 2019, posting four tackles (two solo) on defense and six tackles on special teams while also appearing in the NFC Championship Game and registering a tackle on special teams.
  • Played in all 16 games with 10 starts as a rookie in 2018 and posted 59 tackles (37 solo), a tackle for a loss, a QB pressure and 13 passes defensed (No. 2 on the team). Added three tackles on special teams and a recovery of a blocked punt for a TD.
  • Named a permanent team captain on defense for Iowa in 2017 and was a consensus first-team All-American as well as first-team All-Big Ten by the league's coaches and media.
  • Set career highs as a junior in 2017 in games started (13), tackles (48), solo tackles (34), passes defensed (26, No. 1 in the nation), interception return yards (168, No. 2 in the nation) and forced fumbles (one), while his career-best eight interceptions led the nation and tied the single-season school record. 
  • Along with football, lettered four times in basketball and three times in track and field at Lake Dallas High School in Corinth, Texas.
